QUICK LIME LUMPS
Quick Lime Lumps/ Burnt Lime, also known as Calcium Oxide (CaO), are a highly reactive and versatile industrial material produced by calcining high-purity limestone at controlled temperatures.
Quick lime lumps are produced by heating natural limestone (CaCO₃) in kilns, removing carbon dioxide and forming calcium oxide (CaO). The resulting material is solid, white to off-white in color, and extremely reactive with water.
Due to their chemical properties, quick lime lumps are used where rapid reaction, moisture control, and chemical purification are required.

Mahadev Minerals manufactures high-reactivity quick lime lumps with high CaO content suitable for Sugar, AAC block, Steel and Water treatment industries.

Frequently asked questions
What is the typical Calcium Oxide (CaO) content in Quick Lime Lumps?
Our premium Quick Lime Lumps typically feature a CaO purity of 85% to 90%. This high reactivity and purity level make them ideal for demanding industrial applications like steel manufacturing and chemical processing.
What sizes of Quick Lime Lumps are available?
We supply Quick Lime in various sizes depending on industrial requirements, commonly ranging from 20 mm to 100 mm. We can also provide customized sorting for specific kiln or furnace requirements.
How should Quick Lime Lumps be stored to prevent degradation?
Quick Lime is highly hygroscopic (absorbs moisture). It must be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse in airtight containers or moisture-proof bags. Exposure to air will cause it to convert into hydrated lime, reducing its effectiveness.
What is the "Reactivity" rate of your Quick Lime?
Our Quick Lime is known for high reactivity, typically achieving a temperature rise of 60°C or more within 2 to 5 minutes during the slaking test. This ensures efficient performance in chemical reactions.
Why is Quick Lime preferred in steel making?
In the steel industry, Quick Lime Lumps are used as a flux. They are preferred because they react faster at high temperatures to form slag and do not introduce extra hydrogen into the furnace, which helps maintain the structural integrity of the steel.
